1. Turning the unit on / off (both transmitter and receiver)
i. Slide back the clear plastic cover
ii. Press the (ON / OFF) button to switch the transmitter on.
- A frequency setting appears on the display, and the red LED (ON / LOW Batt) lights up
iii. To switch unit off, press the (ON / OFF)button until (OFF) appears on the display.
- Release the button once you see that. The red LED light at the front should also go off.
2. Muting the device (transmitter only)
i. Press the (Mute) switch at the side down to activate the muting function. *This does not turn the unit off.
3. LED light signal and status
i. There are two LED lights: (AF PEAK), and (ON / LOW BATT) on the transmitter; two LED lights: (RF), and (ON / LOW BATT) on the receiver
ii. (AF PEAK) is a AF level peaking indicator
- yellow: lights up when AF level is too high peaking)
iii. (ON / LOW BATT) provides battery status
- red (constant): the unit is on and battery level is sufficient
- red (flashing): the battery requires changing
iv. (RF) is the radio frequency indicator
- green: lights up when radio frequency is being received
4. Selecting the frequency
i. Use the (up) / (down) arrow buttons to toggle between different channels
ii. The frequency on the display starts flashing
iii. Use the (set) button to lock down on the desire frequency
5. Adjusting sensitivity (SEnSit) (transmitter only)
i. Sensitivity should be adjusted such that the (PEAK) warning only appears only during the loudest noise.
ii. Press the (SET) button and toggle until (SEnSit) appears on the display
iii. The display will down show the current sensitivity level in dB
iv. Use the (up) / (down) arrow buttons to toggle between different sensitivity settings (-30 dB, -20 dB, -10 dB, 0dB)
v. Use the (set) button to lock down on the desire setting
**Use the following guidelines when selecting sensitivity settings:
-Loud music / vocals: -30 / -20 dB
- Presentations: -20 / -10 dB
- Interviews: -10 / 0dB
6. Adjusting Squelch threshold (Transmitter only)
i. The squelch threshold eliminates annoying noises when the transmitter is switched off
ii. Press the (SET) button and toggle until (SqELCH) appears on the display
iii. The display will down show the current sensitivity level in dB
iv. Use the (up) / (down) arrow buttons to toggle between different sensitivity settings (0dB to 40dB in 5dB steps)
v. Use the (set) button to lock down on the desire setting
** If the transmitter is switched off and the Squelch setting is at (0), there will be hissing noise through the receiver.
***The higher the Squelch setting, the lower the transmitter range will be
